For more than 34 years, Mr. Ruth has effectively handled his clients’ legal needs from litigation in state and federal court, to mergers, acquisitions and contract preparation for business clients, to representation before state agencies in Jefferson City, the state capital of Missouri. Mr. Ruth, a founding member and shareholder of Newman, Comley & Ruth, is a Missouri lawyer through and through, as he was born in Jefferson City in 1958, has been a lifelong resident of this city, received both his undergraduate and legal education at the University of Missouri and is admitted to practice law in all state courts in Missouri, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and in the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Ruth is also committed to his community and the legal profession. He has been elected to many leadership positions within his profession, including the Missouri Bar’s Board of Governors, Board of Trustees and Young Lawyers’ Council; House of Delegates for the American Bar Association; and president of the local Cole County Bar Association. He is also a Fellow of the Missouri Bar Foundation having been selected for his significant contributions to the Missouri Bar, a recognition limited to 1% of the total members of the Bar. Within the Jefferson City community, Mr. Ruth has served on the Board of Education for the Jefferson City School District, the Cole County Planning Commission, Board of Governors for Capital Region Medical Center, and is a Rotarian with the Jefferson City Downtown Rotary Club.
